Proteomic profile of Piper tuberculatum (Piperaceae).
Piper tuberculatum (Piperaceae) is a species that accumulates especially amides as secondary metabolites and several biological activities was previously reported. In this article, we report a proteomic study of P. tuberculatum. Bidimensional electrophoresis (2D SDS-PAGE) and mass spectrometry (ESI-Q-TOF) were used in this study. Over a hundred spots and various peptides were identified in this...

In data integration tasks, records from a single dataset or from diffe rent sources must be often compared to identify records that represent the same real world entity. The cost of this search process for finding duplicate records grows quadratically as the number of records available in the data sources in creases and, for this reason, direct approaches, as comparing all record pairs, must ...

The increasing volume of information available in digital media is becoming a challenge for administrators of large data repositories such as digital libraries and databases of large corporations. Nowadays, it is possible to say that the quality of the data used by an organization is proportional to its capacity of providing useful services to their users. Thus, companies and government institu...
متن کاملChemical constituents of Piper betle Linn. (Piperaceae) roots.
Column chromatography of the alcoholic extract of Piper betle roots furnished aristololactam A-II and a new phenyl propene, characterized as 4-allyl resorcinol, while the petroleum-ether extract yielded a diketosteroid, viz. stigmast-4-en-3,6-dione. All these compounds were characterized by spectroscopic means. Isolation of these compounds from this source is being reported here for the first t...
متن کاملAntifungal activity of Piper diospyrifolium Kunth (Piperaceae) essential oil
In vitro activity of the essential oil from Piper diospyrifolium leaves was tested using disk diffusion techniques. The antifungal assay showed significant potencial antifungal activity: the oil was effective against several clinical fungal strains. The majority compounds in the essential oil were identified as sesquiterpenoids by GC-MS and GC-FID techniques.
